The choice is between a short spell of conservative coercion or an eternity of Islamo-communist barbarism.

These guys — Jonathan Cook and Huw Lemmy — get my vote for disingenuous jerks of the day.

is so mistaken. Helen has simply no adequate response to Huw Lemmy or Zhoran Mamdani. Nor is there a ‘liberal’ corrective to the legion of possessed devils who have moved on from convincing themselves that men can be women, that girls and boys should be mutilated, and that rapists should be allowed in Women’s Refuges — to the full on cognitive delusion that rather than an awful, appalling urban war, Gaza is the site of a full blown Jewish-Nazi genocidal conspiracy to kill all Palestinians.

Helen: If you are reading this — all middle ground, all honesty, all reasonable agreement to disagree has been banished from the political system.

Supposedly centrist social democrats and liberals think that it is:

• Ok to shoplift (if you’re black or hispanic and do it in large gangs)

• Ok to riot (if you are nominally in favour of progressive identity politics)

• Ok to attack police stations,

• OK physically to attack politicians (milkshakes, bricks, bullets)

• OK to conspire with state and media organizations to mislead the public (Russia-gate, COVID, crime data, Biden’s mental capacity, Afghan refugees)

• OK to discriminate routinely and illegally against white working class people

• OK to cover up migrant /Muslim rape gangs for decades and force working class girls to pay the price for some ‘greater good’

• Ok publicly to wish for the assassination of opposition politicians,

• Ok to conduct law fare and cook up charges against opposition politicians,

• Ok to wish death on white people,

• Ok to cancel and de-platform intellectual opponents and deny one side any access to media, universities and the public square

• Ok to operate a comprehensive range of policing and judicial double standards in order to promote one side of the political chasm and instill fear into ordinary people on the other side.

• Ok to smear every opponent as a fascist or a racist,

• Ok to attack Jews (‘by any means necessary’)

• Ok actively to facilitate mass nation-destroying immigration, regardless of the likelihood of societal conflict and even civil war.

Given this list, it is perhaps not surprising that for the London literary mafia, it’s apparently OK for people to attack and sabotage military installations but not be treated as a saboteur or a terrorist, or even a s*****g vandal. Admittedly, this guy Huw Lemmy makes the bassist from Motorhead look like a Nun with a doctoral degree in philosophy. He simply can’t be that clever. The alternative is that he’s that morally bankrupt — and to be honest I’m not sure which is worse.

But he is writing in the London Review of Books one of the oldest and supposedly most august literary publications in the English speaking world. So clearly the Editor IS both stupid and morally bankrupt. Stupid because S/he presumably imagines they are still living in the fantasy world inhabited by

(who is neither stupid nor evil — but has a serious bout of Polly Anna syndrome)

This is why Helen — the future is post-liberal. The liberal polities are falling fast. To save them will require a highly illiberal and coercive re-establishment of some basic rules and some basic common ground.

Either Conservatives (A) or Progressive (B) will do this and succeed in re-creating the world in their own image, or we get (C) — New Bad Future that is a cross between Lebanon and Bladerunner. If the progressive left gets to write the script, the future (B) will be a transhumanist, communist hell with the eradication of all individual freedoms and liberties. But much more likely is that they will fail and we will get the New Bad Future. If anyone desires anything vaguely classically liberal (with a small ‘L’) and a little bit democratic — they had better get behind those conservative post liberals pronto.
