It's the water in which we swim. The alternative is to drop out of mainstream society all together. Perhaps that's the thing to do. But then I have kids who need to get on in the world. They will be mobile, move around....and I will be dependent on 'instagram' to see what they are up to. The once piece of tech I need is a one way Time Machine - big enough to carry a Vincent Black Lightening back to Northumberland 1935

There is also a great song my Martin Simpson about his dad, coming back from the Great War....and not being able to hold down a job, or marriage but fly fishing, bird watching, learning the names of flowers - on the back of a Norton think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBq2upq_AG8

Ah yes I saw him play that in the Red Lion in Birmingham, double billed with Gaughan sometime in the early 90s I think
